Day 5: Exercise (NOT) Day
The best laid plans sometimes work out differently, as the Lord leads, and blessings come pouring in...
We had planned a full day of morning hiking and afternoon gym/swim/jacuzzi time. After nearly 9 solid hours of sleep, waking up to potential thunderstorms, we took the van up to the owner's chalet for a nice BBQ lunch, Austrian style!
My day started with an outdoor breakfast before the rain while Peggy intermittently fasted.
Then the van ride and lunch at the ski slope chalet.
The owner's son, who now runs the hotel with his sister, said they've done this lunch every Friday for 20 years. His father cooks and he chats!Every chalet must have a sauna!
Great lunch mates, with Peter, just over my head, being Bill Gross' doppelganger. And the young lady in the middle speaks 3 languages, English, Italian and German... and was overjoyed to receive an English Gideon New Testament. When I saw her at dinner, she asked if there was any chance I had another for her brother...Of Course! That blew her away with excitement! May His Word go forth in power!
Pork cutlet, sausage, grilled veg, polenta and potato salad... did I mention it was hailing!
Please check out the whatsapp blog for the video of the hailing ... (if you're not on the whatsapp blog distribution list, and want to be, let me know).
Did some treadmill with a view after lunch.
Here's the dinner menu and you'll have to figure out which picture matches which dish... the chef is super creative. Hint: the first few seafood dishes are just part of what's called the buffet...
Tonight's menu... so here comes the food!
Of course, we wouldn't have passed this test, since every time a plate came out, we'd have to look back at the menu and try to figure out what the chef did... but it was delicious!
Hopefully, some real exercise tomorrow(though it's supposed to rain all day again)...buonanotte!
